It's very simple, CHANGE THE F#@%ING name! Seriously, I would be willing to bet that had they used common sense and just named the Damn thing Wii 2, despite the lack of games, many a causal and soccer mom would have clued in that it was a completely different console and purchased it. I'm not foolish to believe that we would have seen Wii like sales but by end of Dec 2013 the scenario would have been more likely 10 mill than 5-6. The fact that I still have to explain to people that the Wii U is a new console (non core gamers) means there marketing (even this holiday season) has been and is still an absolute failure. No one outside of the gaming community knows what the hell it is and it's been out for a year.
I am however impressed with next years solid lineup and believe that alongside the unannounced games the Wii U will move at least 8 million consoles next year, so there is nothing else I believe they need to change.
