The 10 point plan is to fire Iwata ten times. What ever he did years ago is irrelevant.
Sony fired "Mad" Ken and turned their fortunes around.
Every idea mentioned here, rather be it stupid or sensible, will never happen as long as Iwata is in charge. He did pretty much nothing during the year to turn the wii u sales around. Put him in charge of the 3DS because that's all he seems to talk about.
With $14bn in hard cash available (this figure depends on whose report you read, I went for the middle figure) a plan B should have been implemented long before the console was even launch.
Plan B: Expand your studios to create new IPs and more diverse games and keep the supply steady. Even if it wasn't needed it would still create profits.
Nintendo does have something unique to offer, they just don't offer it enough. Instead they always talk up third party support before the console is launched and then get ditched.
If they are still releasing consoles in 2020s they will do this same thing over and over again.
The GameCube and dreamcast dropped to ridiculously low prices and no one wanted them. Why? Because they weren't desirable. Just like the wii u. Dropping the price is the worst thing to do. It didn't work then and I don't see it working now.
They need to make the console desirable and there is only one way for them to accomplish that, and that is through new desirable games. Oh, there is a problem here. There are no "new" games. Just rehash of games that sold very well because the wii sold very well.
Mario Kart 8 will sell poorly because the wii u is selling poorly and anyone expecting miracles are in for a severe shock. Tag me on this.
Anyway, enough of that. Fire Iwata and bring someone in that will actually do something noticeable and things may pick up.
Either way I will enjoy SSB, hopefully WatchDogs (may get it for the wii u depending on gamepad functions) and Mario Kart 8, I will let Nintendo worry about their predicament as someone cleverly mentioned.
