We all know the Wii U is in serious trouble and it's trending behind Gamecube, which isn't good at all.  Mario 3D World was a great game, but not a system seller.  Some say "wait until 2014" for games like Smash and Mario Kart, but those are in no way guaranteed to thrive.  Others say the Wii U is dead.  I say it's not, but it's going to take some drastic actions.  Here's my plan.  Please post yours.

1. Release a basic model without gamepad and with a pro controller for $200 or possibly $150 without a game.

2. $250 bundle upon the arrival of Mario Kart 8, and that's day one of its release.

3.  3D World bundle with price cut for $250.  Ideally, you want to wait to bundle this AAA title.  Okay, it's been a month.  Wait over.

4. Start adding bonuses to the bundles, such as Super Mario Bros. 1-3 for free on the virtual console or other eshop titles.

5.  Rapidly increase the speed of the virtual console releases.  10 games per week minimum, and GOOD games only.

6.  Finish off the move towards accounts by tying games to the account.  Crossplay and crossbuy for a small fee must be included.

7.  Hurry up and release Wii Sports Club games and package as a retail game.

8. Push releases for 2014.  These titles are mandatory: quarter one: DKC, quarter two: Mario Kart 8, quarter three: Smash Bros., quarter four: Zelda U

9. Bring back forgotten IPs for 2015, primarily Star Fox and Metroid.  Again, 2015 at the latest.  And get Animal Crossing out 2015 at latest.

10.  Advertise non-stop.  They have started advertising for a change.  We need to see more.  Point out in EVERY ad that the Wii U is a brand new system with upgraded graphics and HD capability.

Just to point out here you want 40 great old games a month? rather than space out any games or let people have time to pick them up and enjoy them? just push 40 a month for the next what 2-3 years?

Okie then future Iwata would you please list the first years 480 GOOD old Nintendo games for the first year so we can get your plan into action.

Keep in mind that you'll have to be forming the rest of your 1440 long list of GOOD games for it by our next meeting or you go in the sharks!

1 "good" game a week would be sufficient, perhaps with theme months as Nintendo used to do with Wii occasionally. "Metroid month" or "Phantasy Star month" or "Bomberman month"

Monster Hunter: pissing me off since 2010.
