Nintendo leaving the games industry would cause a massive revolution in the games industry. First of all, the huge vacuum left by Nintendo in Japan would cause their industry to shrink tremendously and force a lot of devs into the mobile market which would of course burst by the influx of new developers causing a crash in Japan. Nintendo also controls a significant portion of the rest of the world's market so the market would shrink worldwide with more focus on the Western AAAs which with their ballooning budgets are already on the path of destruction. You never want a major player leaving any industry. Other large changes would occur if any other platform holder left or even major publishers
