This. Nintendo also has an arrary of very intuitive and simple games for the casual gamer.
Compare it though. When you start the 3DS, your icon is by default on the cartidge. You just press a button and you're starting.
Now, when you start the Vita theres all these smarties buttons and if you dont know your stuff you are lost and dont know how to even start your game. After you press one a new window pops up with the application and a load more options up top and a start button. This can be very scary for people who dont know what they are doing. Its daunting for them and they give up.
These things seem minor but cost alot of sales in the end. Having a simple an intuitive device is the first step for big sales.
