There are plenty unsold Xbox consoles in stores
There are surely enough people who wanted a PS4 and didn't want to wait till spring 2014 to get one....A friend of mine acted like that but he gladly got his PS4.
Those numbers mean nothing - If Sony could provide supply no matter how big the number is they would have sold it.
You can't get a PS4 ANYHWHERE in stores by walking in but you can get Xbox Ones easily(outside of the USA) - ANd while waiting till you get a PS4 some people don't mind picking up a One in the meantime.

This is what people are not getting. more than 50% of Xbox360 sold was in the US. MS has to ship more console there then anywhere else. There are people who will come into a store to buy a PS4, cannot find it and decide to pick a Xbox One. MS wants those people. So PS4 being sold out in the US is a good opportunity for MS to have more stocks available and get as many as those people mentioned above...
