Do you realize that these companies have to make money back from all of the money, time and research they invest into creating these technologies? Do you realize creating a 20GB harddrive is different from creating a 60GB? They require different manufacturing lines, different technologies to create.

Have I ever claimed to know everything? No, it may seem that way to you since you know nothing.

Listen, Microsoft has already lost a ton of money on hardware as it is, they are not about to go back to losing money on hardware again.

If Microsoft wanted to push the digital download service they wouldn't offer a console with no harddrive, now would they? Use your freakin' head moron.

This is a little puzzling. No one is talking about a microprocessor line that requires expensive new production/assembly technology. The kind of switchover you're referring to would be very inexpensive for a decent third party manufacturer to add to the existing line. The total incremental cost to MS would probably be below $5 per unit.

Also, the cost of going from a 120 GB to a 200 GB would now be negligible. I'm thinking the most likely scenario would be to replace the 20 GB with the 120 GB (already in production) and then replace the 120 GB with a 160 GB or 200 GB. MS' incremental cost on the latter would likely be about $10 (at OEM prices for the internal drive). Considering their other costs have been dropping, I think they will also add a $50-$75 console price reduction.

Don't question username, he's knows "how the market's work"!!
