It's not the same. Nintendo has never developed for PC or anything besides their own consoles besides their first arcade games, and the same goes for Sony. Microsoft, on the other side, was first a PC games publisher/developer (Age of Empires, Flight Simulator, etc.) that later on also became involved with consoles and a bit later killed its PC game studios (the ones of the games I mentioned above). Besides, Remedy is not a first party studio, not even a second party one, so why can't they allow them to port it later on if they want? Allowing them to do it and making it Windows only would only benefit them because, as JerCotter7 has said, PC gaming is mostly Windows based, and launching their IPs on Win PC, would prevent Valve and its Linux based Steam Machines to gain enough ground to be a problem. |
Money is money. Would Nintendo and Sony not make money by putting their games on Windows?
And I mentioned this before but LA Microsoft Studios is partnering up with Remedy. LA MSFT is First Party.
Really what do you expect? microsoft just to put their first party games on Windows and leave Xbox to die? This is exactly why Sony and Nintendo doesnt do it either.
Windows doesn't need those games to sell millions. Xbox is a game platform and does need games to sell it.
