If im expected to spend 150-300 on your new console and the 40-50 dollars they better damn well be at least AS good as games ive already played and own for years. Otherwise what is the point? I might as well just play either 3 or World again for the umpteenth time. Hell there not even close

Limbo, Braid just to name two of my faves. Sure they werent as long but that is my point. THe games you mentioned theyve been making those for decades, it comes to a point where you are going to get diminishing returns quality wise IMHO. We are already seeing that with the 2d Mario series. Not that i dont like Ninty platformers, but where are the NEW ones? Where are the new ideas, cause frankly im only seeing them done OUTSIDE of Ninty's own franchises.

PS4/Xbone ask for a lot more money yet their major entries seems to be steps DOWN from games we've played and owned for years. May as well just play Killzone 2 again by that logic.

Mario, DKC, have not remained the same for decades though; Mario Galaxy and DKCR, for exmaple, are unlike any of their predecessors. And while they're good for Indie titles, Limbo and Braid can't stand up to full-fledged platformers made by larger experienced teams.

Can you give me some examples? cause honestly right now it seems like you are just talking from your butt. Killzone 3 is a better game than 2 and that was withing the same generation. Enlighten me on these entries? You dont even own a PS4 or Xone or PS360 for that matter so im curious.

No indies cant but they are still showing more progress and omph than what ive seen from a good chunk of Nintys own 2d platformers. 3d mario seems to be the only thing they care about actually pushing and doing something cool with. Look at the recent 2d marios and tell me im wrong. DKCR is not that much different than past DKC games, besides graphics what did they really add? Cause i have that game and it aint that much different. At the very least indies are trying to add some different aesthetics and gameplay elements into the genre, what has 2d mario added? and dont say MP that has been done for years.
