Well I guess you're not familiar with how brutal the Japanese soldiers were in WW2, especially against the Chinese. In the Nanking Massacre, Japanese soldiers would cut open pregnant women and stick the fetus on their bayonets and parade around the street. They would rape babies and 80 year old ladies. They committed some of the most horrifying atrocities in history of mankind. In the Manilla Massacre, not only did they rape the women, they raped the men and children too.
And then there was Unit 731 which was part of the Japanese army. This is a video produced by the History Channel, if you didn't know about Unit 731, this will completely blow your mind, and is one of the reasons that I feel ashamed sometimes of having Japanese heritage:

And after watching that video, you can then see why when Japanese officials visit the Yasukuni war shrine, China and South Korea get so outraged about it.
