Please just wrap your head round this, just because you don't play online doesn't mean that millions of people don't, because some people play online and some don't should the game have online or no online. Only a moron would say the game should have no online, if you personally don't use it then why should the millions of people who do use it go without? What's so hard to understand that a feature you don't use is not a useless feature when it doesn't affect you and at the same time millions of other people have the option to use it. And seriously, you have the internet because you are posting here, you say you have friends, unless they have no online then online multiplayer will enhance your experence because without it you'd only be able to play them round your house.

The majority of people who own consoles do not play online. Millions may enjoy playing online, but more people do not play online at all and are happy. You know for someone who just got back from being banned for not reading what you are responding to you are incredibly dense. I have never said, nor even implied a lack of online is better than the presence of online. I have stated, and maintain, that online is not necessary for all games and never will be. No sane reviewer critisized Zelda for lack of online play, and that is the right way to do it. Not all games are enhanced by online. That is an objective fact.

And if you think online multiplayer is anywhere near the experience of having your friends over then I feel sorry for you. It is essentially the same thing as playing against dynamic AI as almost all the interpersonal contact is lost. Yes, with voice chat you can hear each other but that is not nearly as good. I can also play it with my friends who do not have the console/game I want to play and have people try the game out for the first time. The two are completely different experiences.

So you accept that having online as an option is better then no online, well that's a start. Party games are multiplayer player games first not single player games, so using zelda is a worthless example. Their is no reason why online shouldn't be added to all offline multiplayer games. The fact that millions of people play online makes the decision to not include online in any multiplayer game beyond stupid. I never said offline and online multiplayer is the same experence, that's just you argueing about nothing. Not everybody lives right next to their friends and can play multiplayer offline, not everybody has the time to go round somebodys house and might only have 20 minutes to play a quick online session. What happens if you want to play random people, do you just walk into the middle of town and shout out to everybody hey who wants to come back to my place for a game?? Yeah didn't think so. What if you want to play good players, or people of your own ability? It's unlikely that you and your friends will be perfectly matched, but by playing online you can find those players. And what if the game you like isn't popular in you area, if you only play offline then you'll have nobody to play.
