This story has been all over the intertubes today, and I originally thought it was a joke. Everything about it, even the little throwaway details like his and the son's age, was ridiculous.
Until I heard that he was from Nottingham. Then it all started to make sense.
Also, the vendor should be applauded for his ingenuity rather than forced to give a refund. He was just being a good businessman and he gave this kid exactly what he ordered.
If he is forced to give a refund, I'm going to start saying that the wrong side won World War 2.
