That has been true at times but Ocarina of Time 3D was solely because fans were begging for a remake.  Same goes for Mega Man being in Smash Bros, along with the new Pokemon standing out from the rest of the games.

Maybe what we want and what they want us to want just happen to line up on occasion.  XD
