You can in GT5 in a couple of hours. 5 day login bonus, half a million credits per seasonal event, for example just doing 1 lap around the nurburgring. Sarthe is even quicker: over half a million credits in 3 and a half minutes. Or you can let B-Spec do it for you while you watch tv.

This. When I was done playing for the day, or just whenever I was watching TV, I would have my AI driver do endurance races. Occasionally I would check on his progress, but that was it.
