Atlus has confirmed that two of its recent games – Persona 4 Golden and Dragon’s Crown – both put up absolutely huge numbers. How huge? The games combined to ship 1.5 million copies to date.

Persona 4 Golden, a Vita-exclusive port of the super popular PlayStation 2 JRPG, has so far shipped 700,000 copies, and includes digital download purchases as well as retail purchases. It’s important to note that the number is shipped; some copies may not have made their way to consumers yet, though stores wouldn’t order them if they didn’t think they could sell ‘em.

Dragon’s Crown, on the other hand, performed even better. Across both PlayStation 3 and PlayStation Vita – and counting both digital and retail sales – Dragon’s Crown has shipped 800,000 copies. The same shipped-sold caveat above applies to Dragon’s Crown.

Both Persona 4 Golden and Dragon’s Crown represent some of PlayStation Vita’s best games, and Dragon’s Crown is no slouch on PlayStation 3, either. We gave Persona 4 Golden a 9.3 and Dragon’s Crown an 8.5.

The future of at least one of these series is certain: Atlus recently revealed that four new Persona games are coming, including the much-awaited Persona 5. Dragon’s Crown, on the other hand, is still being supported with DLC. We can only hope that these numbers push Atlus to fund a sequel via talented developer Vanillaware.

Notes: both games are said to be shipped, and not sold to customers, and Dragons's Crown sales are both for ps3, and vita (but even if the vita accounts for slightly less than half, that's still over 1 million copies)

This good news should mean more ATLUS, and JRPG support!!

Thoughts??
