Is X1 forcing Kinect on us any different than PS3 forcing Bluray on us?

The PS3 was the cheapest blu-ray player for at least it's first year. It's actually the reason I bought one.

Blu-ray was coming, regardless of the PS3. The same doesn't apply for Kinect.
