You can’t view or manage storage, a spectacularly poor decision given that the 500GB hard drive will be approaching capacity by March.

Really I hate when you see criticisms of features that are coming, but just not needed yet. In software development you make compromises based on when functionality is required. For instance worked on a website that was annual subscription based. We didnt implement a way for someone to renew thier subscription when we launched the site.  Oh my god we will lose business because people wont be able to renew. No since it was annual we knew we had no reason to have a requirment completed for launch if it wasnt going to be used for most of the 1st year.

Was this your 2nd or 3rd website that your customers are transferring from?  The same customers that had this "annual renewal" subscriptions for the previous interations?  Was this... screw it, I can't even continue with your horrible analogy. The fact of the matter is, it's a feature that was included in X360 so people can manage their data and it's not there now. With a 500 gb HDD and the size of installation on both consoles it's a shitty design flaw not to include this at launch. With so many people mentioning it out of gate it is obviously "needed" now not later.

No it's not. Even if you bought every single game plus it's DLC, you would not use up all of your hard drive space. Not to mention you can very easily delete your games (your saves are saved in the cloud and can't be managed yet).

So no, it is not needed at all right now. They should definitely add total file management by the springtime though. People are mentioning it right out of the gate because it's a nice feature to have, and they want it added, not because they need it.

Fair enough then. So the next PC i buy i'll tell them it doesn't matter what size hdd I get because I don't need to see the storage capacity or need to manage it in 2013 because any content I have such as games, movies, music etc I'll just delete it when i get the error message "Not enough storage" on my all in one system..

What a terrible analogy.  You can only store games on the it, xbox one games.  You cant fill it up.  Thats the point.  It isnt urgent, but its coming.  It really isnt an issue at all right now.

Well then we'll just agree to disagree on it, same with yo_john117 to then. What isn't urgent to you is urgent for me. Your the early adopter and okay with everything, that's fine. But my gaming time this past gen was spent 80%/20% for PS3/X360. It's great that these things are getting patched but until they do neither company is getting my 400/500 dollars. My PS3 and even my 360 before it died has true storage management, can use DLNA and play mp3's. Going backward even if it's just for launch is a problem for me.

I'll buy a PS4 next year and if MS announces exclusive Jrpg's then i'll buy one then too. But for now, the promise of a patch of things I already have from either side is not enough to pull me in..
