So your problem is with the Harddrive size, not the lack of true management. Because what you just said, and what's actually going on with the X1 are two different things. Not to mention you're totally disregarding the fact that the such functionality will be added with an update (probably in the same update that allows for any external harddrive to be used as storage) and that said update will most likely show up sometime in the spring.
Right now, in it's current state, the X1 doesn't need true file management. You can delete any games, apps, or DLC (and I'm sure movies, music, and TV shows as well) of your choosing that you downloaded/installed with absolute ease. I'm not saying it's not a nice feature to have, I'm saying it's not needed in the Xbox One's current state because the main part of that functionality is already there.
