They're expecting mobiles and tablets to go away. The three consecutive 30-ish million years of the DS will never be repeated by any console, handheld or otherwise, nothing will even come close.

When the Vita launched I said both the Vita and 3DS will sell half of their predecessors at best.  I stand by that statement today...

and in the end, vita will be lucky to reach 1/4 of psp's sales and it's a given that 3ds will easily sell more than half of ds's numbers.

So you think that the Vita will be lucky to reach 20m, but the Wii U (Which is doing even worse) will be past 22m a year from now.  Right...
