Thats funny because Ryse doesnt use it, Crytek wrote there own software upsaler, presumably they thought it was bad also, to go to this effort.

I also changed the colour fom 24 bit to 36. nd changed the colour to Full RGB. Ryse looks photorealsitic alot f the ime now. Especially the later levels.

Changing the hdmi output to 36 bpp doesn't do anything for game image quality. The game renders in 24 bit, converting to 36 bit doesn't change anything. Full RGB makes a small difference as the conversion to tv color space will wait until the image arrives on the display.

All movie and tv content is in 8 bit YCbCr (equal to limited 24 bit RGB) though, converting that back and forth can cause issues, best is to leave that in YCbCr and let the conversion happen on the display side. You'll have to wait until 4K movies come around to enjoy 10 bit (deep) color. If you have a 10 bit color panel that is, only very few high end tv's actually have a true 10 bit LCD display, more have 10 bit processing, but panels are usually 8 bit LCD.
