I don't know anyone that has a 720p TV. All are 1080p. Just because your experience is different, doesn't mean that it's the norm. Where are you getting your information that the adoption rate was highest in 2008-2010? I know, out of your... There is no chance that 90% of TVs are less than 1080p. It's at best on the order of 25%.
