This thread is for those selfish gamers like this user (who will not be named) who like to complain like little girls about the limited space of hard drives at launch.

Do you guys remember 2005/06? Let's take a moment.

The Xbox 360

  • Launched with a 20 gb hard drive, comparable to most pcs at the time
  • You could download demos ONLINE! Crazy!
  • There was a menu before you even got into the game! It was called the dashboard. OMG
  • Wifi  add on for only $99? WUT. The console can do wifi to get online? THERE'S ONLINE? WUTTTT

The Playstation 3

  • 20gb or 60gb harddrives? YOU MEAN I HAVE A CHOICE? I'll never fill that up.
  • FREE DEMOS SCOREEEE
  • Omg it also has a main menu B4 you even go into a game!
  • Giant crabs? NEXT GENNN
  • ERMG TEH CELL

The Nintendo Wii

  • I can control the game... with motion? WTF IS THIS
  • ANOTHER MAIN MENU THAT'S SO NEXT GEN
  • You mean.... I can download N64 games, on the Wii? HOLY SHIT
  • AND SNES GAMES I'M SO HAPPY
  • CAMERA!!!

Okay so basically my sarcastic point is to all those who are complaining.... think about it. Look how far the technology in gaming has gotten. We're launching consoles with 500gb as the standard, and that's considered low! This is crazy. The online functionality. You can play the game on a freakin' tablet for crying out loud! And it comes with the console!!!

Every game is downloadable. Free games are offered via online services. Upgrade fees to next gen versions. Digital pre-orders. Voice commands for the entire console. The console SERVING as a complete entertainment device and controlling your television?

Just take a moment, and be thankful for where the standards have taken us. It's amazing really.  And this is just the launch. Consoles aren't like back in the day. Digital updates and new skews with bigger harddrives drive everything forward.

It's. Crazy. Like. Shit.
