What are the big dogs you talk about? Sony and Microsoft cant be them because they still have not recovered from the last one or two generations. So its more 2 injured puppies.
And btw why should Nintendo compete? What exactly is to be gained from doing so?

You just described every Sony or Microsoft system EVER. Nintendo always brought something new to the table the rest only brought horsepower.
