Most first person games you rarely see the main character so it leaves a player to imagine almost anything they want. I do not have a problem with some androgeny it is just practically every JRPG really uses a lot of feminine males. I used to love JRPGs when the graphics did not give away the over abundance of feminine males (NES -PS1 era) , but after that the graphics make the andorgeny in almost every male super apperent, and I stopped buying. I suppose I care as I wiould like to play unique Japanese games, but not ones the constant banal anime look. |
But I'm wanting to know why people don't like the androgynous characters in particular. There's plenty of other character tropes people could hate on in modern JRPGs but this one seems to get particular hate.
