The thing is, it doesn't have to take over Japan. Sony has already showed that by not launching the console there. Because what is left? Japanese devs will be making games for PS3, PSV, PSP and 3DS. So whatever happens, Sony is covered and nobody will push them out of this market.
Wii U is a GCN 2 - I called it months before the release!
