Success for Nintendo with the WiiU is making a profit and keeping shareholders happy. I'm not comparing them to the competitions. This next-gen is Sony's to lose, Nintendo will simply be a byproduct doing their own thing like always.

It's not as easy this time around tho. If WiiU continues to sell as much as it is (in the middle of the year) it'll be completely removed from store shelves world over. Why have WiiU hardware and software take up a shelf when you could have PS4/XB1 games there?

Nintendo claims that the price had nothing to do with the poor WiiU sales but coinsidently after the price cut sales double. Q1 2013 there was really no reason to have a price cut, WiiU would of sold at a loss and there was simply not enough software to push hardware sales. I think at $299 is still too expensive for what the WiiU has to offer to customer that aren't big fan of Nintendo. Casual friendly price is $250. I'm actually picking up a WiiU for my nephew tomorrow  for $250, hopefully more retaillers drop the price down to $250 during the holiday season.

Remember that during 2013 at the store WiiU competition on the shelf was the much cheaper Ps3 and Xbox360. As the focus in retail moves away from PS3 and XBox 360 to PS4 and Xbone, the WiiU will move from being the most expensive hardware to the cheaper alternative.
