What about a cow genetically bred to be eaten? Like in Hitchhikers?
Also, I couldn't eat a cow's head or a pig's head, or a rooster head, so probably couldn't eat a dog's head.
Food is food. I'm not certain why vegetarians pick on helpless plants, but at least they don't feel pain. Also mostly aren't as tasty and often quite hard for our bodies to digest (We got weaker stomachs as more food became available).
Although, the weird truth, if we never ate meat, then we'd just be killing animals for fun and because of our natural greed and expansion. Turning the world vegetarian would hardly save animal lives. We'd just be wasting the corpses. Not certain why that is somehow better.
