It's Wolverine syndrome.

Some characters are so popular that their fans sort of lose logic and blindly support the character well past their swinging level.

As best shown by... well wolverine.

 

As Vagabond said way back in 2010.   The greek gods are wimps comparitivly fiction wise.  Hell, the ones in God of War even more so.


Tthis is best most common with Wolverine, Goku, Batman with Prep and Doctor Doom.

 

The next step is "stupid stipulations" threads.


Like, Kratos vs Superman, but Kratos gets Superman's strength and speed and the chains of olympus has infinite reach so Superman can't just fly into the atmospere and lobotimize Kratos from space.
