If this is a Wii U thread, or more specifically a Wii U Doom thread, no; the Wii U is not doomed, but any sort of lingering hopes Nintendo fans might have of it making some miraculous turnaround where it becomes a serious player in the 8th gen is probably going to be disappointed.
Leave Nintendo where it has been comfortable during the N64 and GC generations; as a smaller niche gaming platform with many of the best first party IPs and a loyal fan base to support these releases. All the Wii U really has to do is carry the torch to the next generation of hardware.
