Because its depressing when games that are unique and try to be different don't sell, then games that make minimal changes in each iteration sell so well.

I know! that's why when Super Mario 3D World sells well it will also be very depressing as it's the same game as Mario 64 i mean they change the maps, weapons/powers and enemies but it's the same game otherwise!
