In my opinion Yakuza 4 has the best gameplay and best story in the series.  For the first time, you're not only playing as Kazuma, but also three new characters, each of which play fairly different from one another.  Aside from just the solid gameplay and great storyline, Yakuza has always featured a plethora of side content and well developed mini games, which is also best in Yakuza 4.
