37. Fire Emblem: Awakening (New!) first impression 8, replay 8, technical 7.5
Pros: Fire Emblem roars back in style with a game just oozing content, from the almost infinite possibilities of character relationships, the DLC, the innovative new partnership system, to the first-of-its-kind for the franchise postgame. The game gave us several memorable characters (and a deliciously all-grown-up Tiki), including the unique aspect of having a customizable player character whose persona was still rather fleshed out.
Cons: Much of the content outside of the story is not as polished as it could be. All but one of the paralogues have you fighting either bandits or "Risen", which begs the question of how there are so many bandit troops which can pose an actual threat to what is otherwise the most elite military unit in the world. "Pair Up" doesn't entirely make up for the loss of "Shove" or "Rescue". Still, still no damn auto-canto!
Monster Hunter: pissing me off since 2010.
