So I'm not a big racing fan, not because I don't like them but because I feel like the fun in racing games has been sucked out and now its all about which one looks the best so now I tend to play kart racers more. I'd say I was most into racing games in the PS2/XBOX days with series like Midnight Club, Project Gotham, NFS, and Burnout.
Which leads me to my favorite racer, which is Midnight Club 3 Dub Edition. I loved this game so much when I was a kid, it had a huge variety of cars and the custimization and open world were kick ass. Imo Midnight Club LA was a huge dissapointment and I hope Rockstar makes another one where they go back to the mechanics in 3. The different clubs you had to race with different kinds of cars really kept the game feeling fresh the whole way through imo. The game also had special moves that were really fun to use, its been a while but I think one let you smash through cars like they were nothing, one let you slow down time and I can't remember the third. The game also had this mechanic where if you drove behind another car a meter would build up and then you could use split stream and it was kinda like nitrous, which it also had. Anyway I could go on and on about why I loved this game, so what's your guy's favorite?
Edit: Oh I almost forgot, the soundtrack in the game was one of the best I've had in a racing game, only bested by Project Gotham.
