I'm interested in this game enough to get an Xbox One eventually. Looks good.

Lik i said in the review just make sure you want it now with 6 characters or wait for more content.  That is up to you :)

Since its free with 2 characters then he could have it now and then pay for the full package when it exists if he liked the experience... but Am I the only one that think this free mode looks quite a lot like a demo??? Or is the scope greater than fighting demos usually have?? (Usually buy the game without playing demo, don't have space on the HDD for any demo, have to manage my PSN downloads and erase olders ones or big installs of older games that I won't play anymore)..

It is one chararacter free(Jago) and yeah I would describe it more as a demo than an actual free to play game.  The thing is it does have elements of free to play.  While yes you can purchase the whole game immediately like I did you can also opt out in only buying the characters you wanted.

So let's say as an example by the end of season 2 when they have 20+ characters.  Technically you dont have to own all 20.  YOu could only own 8, or 11, or even 3 if that is all you wanted.  So the game gives you options.  It works pretty well with fighters at least.

I preffer my games as full as possible (if I buy it older then I preffer greatest hits editions - usually the same price)... but in the case of this game and FM extravagant release schedule I think waiting for this kind of edition would be good (of course not considering the real fans of those games because they wouldn't be able hold off... and to make it worse its beginning of gen, so if they skip both games it will have small library to choose for some months)... The fighting games I have, I usually use between 1 to 4 chars to play, but I like to have a lot so when people visit me they can choose or if they complain I know my char to well (when playing with people that almost don't play - myself don't play my fighters alone since ever) then randomize is a nice feature with a great rooster...

Out of curiosity what was the rooster in the original KI and the last version launched?? I still think their price to buy chars a little step - even more when you pay 40 dollars to have 15 chars... maybe if it was 20~30 (probably will happen with time and DLCs)... would be really great if they gave the other chars to people that bought the full package at the beggining and don't milk then for further DLC (that is common with fighters)... At least Xbone fans will have a fun fighter to play before the likes of Tekken, SF, Marvel, etc decides to launch (and by the latest capcom announcements, may take more than 1 year)... us ps4 players will be a little forgot while that, maybe sony could launch all star 2 for PS4 to help us out =]
