You're probably right about allot of that. (Wait and see is the approach I shall take!)
However in regards to Tessellation? I doubt it. Tessellation when used right can bring with it no performance penalty, in some cases can be used to increase performance and usually brings with it substantuall increases in image quality when used right.
Tessellation is very adept at scaling to different factors, it's one thing developers who make Xbox One and Playstation 4 games don't have to forgo when porting downwards to the Wii U, they will merely reduce the Tessellation factor.
