42. Ni no Kuni (NR)
A wonderful game that takes Pokemon's monster collection and evolution and wraps a different battle system around it. Complaints about AI aside, the battles are solid and switching between your characters is used to crucial effect. There is plenty of game content that varies quite a bit so if you ever tire of doing something you can find another task to work on. The contributions of Studio Ghibli are readily apparent in the story and gorgeous visuals. On top of that, the Wizard's Companion is a great way to make the information about the world of the game available without relying on experimentation or strategy guides and contains loads of fun information to read through. This is the only game I've ever gotten a platinum trophy for, so I think that says a lot.
Primarily an RPG player but have interest in any game that will make me think.
