My point was last gen things went bad for from just about day one ms had alot go well for them, ps3 still eventually  passed it 

yeah, but going into last gen MS/xbox was pretty much non-existant too.  xbox made sigificant gains as a brand this gen so going into next gen isn't the same place as going into last gen.
