For you to understand my point of view I need to give you the long answer.
*No, I don't usually buy systems early. I am not the type to rush out and buy something because it is new. My job is encourage others to do that. Neither do I tie myself to any brand or company. Again it is my job is to get people to worship brands, not fall into the trap myself. So not a fanboy.
Why I like Nintendo. I like Nintendo simply because they do what MS and Sony don't. Nintendo creates great fantasy and fun games with brilliant art styles. Not a touch of realism. So many people keep going on about wanting realism in games that I believe they must be living in fantasy and gaming is the reality they are after. No offense to anyone intended.
I live in reality and rather have my game fantastical. Give me more Zelda with weird and wonderful artwork than a realistic looking, life like shooter any day. That doesn't mean I do not partake in a good FPS or driving sim. I enjoy these as well but I can take or leave them. I do wish Nintendo did more realistic looking games for the overall versatility of the console however.
I am therefore in a small minority but that pleases me. Why be like everyone else, eh?
So I would be disappointted if Nintendo released another console after three years. It would like they are forcing me to upgrade to a new and more expensive console (based on your hypothesis it would be an expensive system) to play the games you suggested. Whereas I think five years or more is an ideal lifetime for a console before it's direct successor is launched. Other consoles give their userbase a good few years. Why should I not be entitled to that?
In other words - and for the want of a more direct phrase - they would be taking the piss. You know, taking their fan base as mugs. I would consider it wrong.
* My current housemate works in store that sell consoles and he has hooked me up with a good PS4 deal. I have paid him the money but yet to see the console....uuumm. Therefore if there is a good deal going I will buy a item early. I am not that stupid.
Also clients that I do work for do offer me lots of freebies and discounts on the items we advertise.
