as the point that PS3 only caught the 360 because of Japan. You do realize that PS3's edge over 360 was only 7.5 mil in its home country. The 360 had a 17 million edge in its home country. One could argue that Sony operates at a natural disadvantage because the 360 has the larget market it the world in its backyard and Sony operates from a much smaller market that has been in decline now for a decade.
End of 2009 Predictions (Set, January 1st 2009)
Wii- 72 million 3rd Year Peak, better slate of releases
360- 37 million Should trend down slightly after 3rd year peak
PS3- 29 million Sales should pick up next year, 3rd year peak and price cut
