Initially, I had reservations about the show, because that guy from Roseanne was in it (and Roseanne wasn't good), but it didn't bother me anymore after a while.

Trying watching the show without a laugh track. It becomes entirely unfunny because you're not told when to laugh.

The issue is comedies with and without laugh tracks have distinct rhythms to thier jokes.  Now, I prefer an Arrested Development or Parks and Recreation which forgoes the laugh track for a more natural seemless flow to jokes.  That said, I think if you removed the laugh track from the culture of Big Bang the entire reading would be handled differently.  It is an older style of sitcom, I mean it is on CBS which caters to older viewers, but I do not quite get the hate for it.
