In my experience, they are more reliable than pro reviewers based roughly on the games I have played.
Anyway, do you think 29 scores is reliable? Don't you prefer 387 users, even if 10% are trolls, they are trolls of both sides. And anyway I haven't seen a real genuine personnal review on Internet less than 7/10.
For instance the guy from USgamer who gave a shitty article on "you don't need a PS4" or something on Eurogamer said on the comments that he would have score KZSF a 7/10. When his then co-worker on USgamer scored the game 4/10. You see, a pro-reviewer give 4/10 when a guy who wrote a wholly negative article on PS4 on Eurogamer admitted that he would have score 7/10. Maybe that's why USgamer didn't ask him to review the game.
Or when Polygon ask specifically Arthur Gies to review a game from the serie everybody in the world knows he hate. Were they supposing that he would give a fair review when he hates FPS and particularly Killzone? But then Knack is reviewed by another reviewer and scored higher than KZ?
I could go on and go on but I am starting to really lose confidence on pro-reviewers. It was the same sort of stuff with ZombiU with the bad gamespot score and it finally reach 77 on metacritic, then a good/great game. But the first reviews were really mixed, too much mixed.
