40% failure rate confirmed by social media. Don't believe me look at Amazon's review rating. |
You don't seriously believe this 40%, do you? The defection rate cannot possibly be 40%, otherwise it would be huge scandal everywhere it was sold. We don't see such reactions. Most retail stores report, the BLOD is real, and they had a few faulty ones, but those are rare. The so called 40% is exclusive to Amazon, and the very nature of the reviews look there.
First of all, it's not the defection rate is 40%; it is the 40% of reviewer report that they had a problem.
You are assuming,
a) They all are telling the turth
b) Everyone is writing reviews
c) The failures are taken from an unbiased sample.
Everyone of those assumptions are wrong! The vast majority of people, especially those who are happy with their console playing, do not bother with writing a review. So those who write are more likely to be frustrated with something, some of those are just lying.
I would be extremely surprised if the failure is a double-digit number. I don't even think it is economically signifiant.
The social media is like an uber-magnifier, makes everything 1000 times bigger!
