Sounds like complete BS to me.

How can poeple who didn't even preorder the console just decide to drop whatever they are doing and jump in line for something they;

A) had no intent of buying.
B) Made no provisions for buying (nobody buys a £$400 console out of the blue, just like nobody jumps in line to buy the next iphone when they see a qeu forming outside the apple store)
C) Stores should honor whatever limited stock they have for people who actually preordered the console...

Microsoft has officially came out to say that there will be a shortages of Xbox Ones for pre-order because they purposely held some back for walk-ins to buy who did not pre-ordered an Xbox One.  With that being said, we know you are an Xbox/Microsoft supporter which is fine, and there is no reason to not believe the previously mentioned scenario from Microsoft.  So it should NOT be hard for anyone to believe the OP's report.  For your sake, I hope you weren't so quick to believe Microsoft's intended action but yet discount the similar positive effect the PS4 launch is having of walk-ins purchasing a PS4.
