Could be a number of different games, but my guess is Castlevania: Lament of Innocence.

Also, I'm going to skip on the hint for #45, since I'm already lagging behind and it was a ridiculously convoluted hint. The game is the original Legend of Zelda.

Hint for #44:

In the event of a surprise attack, apply the following stratagem: Turn 180 degrees and perform an orderly retreat. Take refuge within a nearby tent if possible. Expose buttocks if all hope is lost.
