You've got the Aliens: Colonial Marines controversy where they and Gearbox played the blame game with one another. You've got the fact that they're sitting on popular older franchises and not doing anything with them, even when the creators of those franchises want to make new games in the series. You've got the fact that they won't localize the latest Yakuza games as well as any Sakura Wars games despite fans outside of Japan asking for them to be localized. And of course, like you said, there haven't been very many good Sonic Games in recent years (Generations and 4 were pretty good). And then you've got the fact that they signed a 2 year, 3 game Sonic exclusivity deal with Nintendo, which looks like it's going to bite them in the butt, as the first game in that exclusivity deal, Sonic Lost World, has been met with mixed critical reception and low sales. I really hope that both Sega and Microsoft come to their senses and partner up with each other this gen, Sega could use Microsoft's funding in order to actually localize games outside of Japan and revive old franchises and Microsoft needs exclusives that will sell in Japan. |
I read somewhere that Sega was initially going to partner with Sega after the Dreamcast failed! It could be possible but i hope that isn't the case. Just because of Atlus. I would hate to have SMt or Etrian Odyssey taken out of the handhelds
