Considering when gaming became popular in the 80's, a lot of those kids (myself included) still play games to this day, typically of sony, they BOUGHT in to something at just the right time.

They have rabbit foot syndrome.

Look at it this way, before sony arrived gaming was getting more and MORE popular anyway (any arcade all over the world would be testiment to that)

3D gaming was about to boom anyway thanks to SEGA and the Virtua Fighter series.

Bottom line______________ is, sony get far more credit than they actually deserve, THEY GOT LUCKY.

Hence they are reality stars in my eyes, not A list celebrities like Atari, Nintendo, SEGA, Capcom, Namco, Konami, Taito and many more.

And yet, the Saturn which came out before the PS1 failed miserably. They got lucky but somehow Nintendo and Sega didn't? What gives? At the end of the day, Sony has the top 2 best selling games on the PS1, created the Crash and Spyro series and made FF the brand that it is worldwide.

How did Sony make the FF brand that it is WW? It was huge already on SNES. Dont get me wrong, i kno which are the best selling but dont alot of people love the original 3 or 4 games?

Wrong, it was big in Japan, selling 2.62M (but Square charts show that that includes the PS1). FF6 only sold 860,000 in the west - as of the 31st of March 2003, which means that worldwide, it wasn't that big.
