Sorry you take it like that. But you compared games that have completely different play styles. Fighters have detail differences between each other. You mention the 3D plane for Soul Calibur as a defining difference between it and KI. But you probably know full well that the gameplay in SC isn't centered around that 3D plane. The action takes place on a 2D plane. Unlike games like Power Stone or Thrill Kill (if you've ever managed to play that game) where the actual focus IS on that 3D plane and where positioning is often key to strategies. It doesn't serve only to sidestep and dodge blows... -__-
