Well if you want to nit pick about things than Technically Microsoft didn't stop supporting Xbox 1 until 2010 when Xbox Live supported ended for the console, the last game for Xbox 1 was also sent out in 2009. This would indicate to me that Microsoft DID infact support Xbox 1 for 9 years and Xbox 360 is still going. Hate to burst that little bubble there. How about we take alook at this from any approach you want and the answer will be the same. Nintendo and Microsoft went from 20 - 25 million lifetime sales to 100 million and 80 million plus, whilst Sony crashed and burned turning an incredible market share into equal and lesser marketshare with its two competitors. What happens next gen no one will know, however, logic is fairly simple and 100% available for anyone to see. |
I dont even where to start with this ridiculousness. Nintendo's success was an anomaly based on price and marketing, and we seen how long that lasted about as long as Microsoft's lead. Who btw had a year head start over both consoles and a 18 month lead time in europe, and Sony with a more expensive system came back and beat them (talk about embarrassing).
Until microsoft can compete outside of the us they will always lose its just a matter of the numbers. Also for clarification when i say support im talking about continuing to put out and sale hardware and software at a consistent level which they didn't do in either iteration of their console cycles. They screwed over people who bought the original xbox after 3 years cause they wanted to get the drop on sony this gen, and as a result they put out faulty hardware and screwed their supporters again and like last gen they started to peter out cause they dont have the fanbase or studio support like sony does its in the numbers look it up.
