It's for look purpose when your console stands vertically.

That doesn't make sense. 

Look at the picture of the stand.  It sits flush with the edge (side) of the matte half of the console.  It snaps into the groove on the side.  At no point does it come up over the top or bottom panel requiring the feet to be inset or missing.

So, the missing feet are from the wrong side, for starters.  They're missing from the glossy side, not the matte side, and regardless the stand doesn't ever come up over either the top or bottom panel.

This seems like really bad design.

Errr... You don't need the stand to put your PS4 vertical. It's an option.
