Sony bought Erricson. They used to be an independent company. So it is part of sony now. At least I think so anyway. |
No SonyEricsson is a jointventure, merging both companies mobile phone businesses. It's owned by Ericsson (50%) and Sony (50%) and is mainly made of the old Ericsson mobile phone division, since before that, Sony wasn't making much mobile phones while Ericsson was amongst the world leaders. |
Maybe I should check before I post but sony always seems to do that. They buy there way into something rather than developing it themselves, kinda like Microsoft. Although when Sony does develop something they seem to be fairly succesful. But if it is 50% sony it is still half sony. Without sony erricson wouldnt be where they are today. They could be doing even better but they probably would have been doing worse.
